Bourjois 10 Day Nail Enamel: 25

This Bourjois NOTD features one of the shades from their Sweet Paris 2012 Spring Collection.  While I'm late to the party posting it I believe (hope?) it's still available at some Priceline stores locally.

Shade number 25 is described on Bourjois' website as a spring pastel coral and I can't add to that except to say it's a glossy cream finish.  This was my first experience with Bourjois' 10 Day formula and first impressions were good as it applied quite smoothly and easily with the flat wide brush.  Now here's where things went downhill:  I decided to put it to the wear test - not 10 days because obviously I'm way too impatient - through a typical 5 day working week.  Even after reinforcing it with my usual base and top coats the performance was well below what I was expecting - tip wear within a few days, with very noticeable chips appearing within 5 days.  Honestly, some of my $3 bottles have performed better so I was disappointed.  Nice colour but don't expect any miracles in terms of wear time unfortunately.

All pictures were taken in cloudy conditions:

Have you tried Bourjois 10 Day Nail Enamel?
How has it performed for you?

  3. Aww! I doubt it'll last to 10 days anyways. The colour looks AMAZING on your nails though! This is totally up my alley, but it's too expensive for my budget. Meh

    1. It's rare to get a truly long lasting polish but I can usually get a good 4 to 5 days wear from a regular polish so I was expecting just a little more stamina from this one. Oh well...

  4. This is so pretty I have been eyeing these off for a while, I would love to know how they make the polish last 10 days to make that claim.

    1. The colour was very pretty to wear but...I'm waiting for someone to come forward and stand up for the 10 day claim!

    1. I agree about the formula. How is the wear time for you Sarah Jane?

  6. I love this, but I have a serious thing for corals, pinks and purples...

Truthfully, it doesn't really matter to me too much if a shade lasts 10 days, because I usually change my mani before that! Still, it's frustrating when a product doesn't live up to expectations!

    1. If it was a weekend colour obviously it wouldn't have bothered me but I did expect a 10-day formula to last 5 days during the week! Weird.

  7. Polish doesn't last very long on my nails (weak nails, sob) but sad to hear this one didn't hold up for you. Would probably end up the same wear time as the others for me, barely 2 days and I have to change it all.

Great shade though, nice coral is always a good choice :)

    1. Yes I was most definitely drawn to the pretty colour - I'll always have a thing for coral :)

  8. This is a beautiful colour! I have a Bourjois that chips on me in 3 days or so, and don't believe their 10-day wear claim. It's an average product, really.

    1. It's so surprising isn't it! Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way about this product.

  10. I love this colour, I have it too and haven't shown it much love lately so thanks for the reminder. Now, about the formula - I really think they've changed it since the 10day no-chip range was first introduced. The first polish I bought from the 10day range (#15) lasted me a whole 7 days without chipping (i was impatient and removed it after 7days) but the ones I've bought recently have all chipped after about 2 days. I was thinking maybe it's my nails, but since you mention that it chipped as well all I can think is the formula has been sneakily changed!

    1. That's really interesting Lilit - I wondered if I was just unlucky but reading that I see I'm not the only one. I'm pretty sure I remember you posting a positive review about these polishes some time ago too! The $64K question is: What happened to the formula?

  11. There's no Bourjois here any more, I think, but I guess we're not missing out on their nail polish, at least! ;)

    1. Bourjois is a big drugstore brand down here although I only have a few items in my makeup kit. I have a few of their cute blush pots, a single lippy and this polish :)
