Essence: What Do U Think?

Hi-Hi! I've been under house arrest for the last couple of days looking after my son.  The poor little guy is getting over a nasty bout of stomach 'flu so we're all a little exhausted around here.  This blogging caper is my escape for the day...

Okay, onto today's (well last weekend's really) mani.  I haven't posted an Essence Colour & Go for a while so this was a welcome reminder of why I love the formula on these little lacquers - they dry so quickly with that smooth streak-free finish.  They barely need a top coat!  Right - so the formula was great but the colour, although nice enough, let me down a little.  What Do U Think? is an apt name for this polish and this post really.  The bottle promised a peachy polish with golden sparkle but the sparkle did not translate onto the nail at all.  There was no sparkle. Nothing. Nada. Zip.  Don't you just hate it when that happens?

All of these pictures were taken outdoors in cloudy conditions:

So...What do you think?

Vita :)

  2. it's a nice colour but yeah it is so annoying when you see a nice shimmer in the bottle and it just doesn't translate

:-( your poor son, my daughter had it last week - gastro is horrid!

    1. So the stomach thing's going around then. It's awful and came on quite suddenly. He's got his appetite back today so fingers-crossed he'll be okay to get back to school tomorrow. xo

  4. Isn't it strange when the shimmer disappears!? But then the polishes that are 'meh' in bottle and amaaazing on nails make up for it,right? Do hope your son feels better soon, I'm sure he is loving being taken care of :)

    1. Thank you Emma, My son's nearly 100% and was able to get back to school today to do a presentation as our first PM Edmund Barton!

Yes, I know what you mean about polishes being unpredictable - I've had a few very pleasant surprises when swatching!

  5. I do like the colour, but it definitely looks better in the bottle. The shimmer would have paired so nicely. I hope your son gets better soon!
