Vampy glitter mani: Revlon - Scandalous

Winter is very much on my mind at the moment because we're in the middle of a cold snap down here in Melbourne!

Scandalous is one of the polishes from Revlon's 2012 Expressionists collection and looks like it should be the perfect glitter to grace pale winter fingers because it's a vampy.  Scandalous was released in the UK and US (I think?) as Facets of Fuschia and I've got no idea as to why it was relabelled.  This polish is made up of fuschia/purple hex and microglitter in a semi opaque black base.  Rather than building up multiple coats of this polish over bare nails I did my usual cheat and applied a single coat over my existing L'Oreal Mystic Blue base and it worked pretty well.  What I'm unhappy about is the pallor of my fingers - the cold drained all the colour from them and they look pretty deathly here!

All pictures were taken in sunlight:

I believe this polish is now in Revlon's core line.

That's all for now.

Vita :)

    1. Thanks Jas, we pale gals should stick together, haha! I was worried my hands looked too dead in these pics.

  2. Haha I agree, my skin is that shade year round too! I've just learnt to embrace it. I've considered buying Scandalous a couple of times but always ended up getting a different colour instead. Maybe next time ;)

    1. Try it! I'm keen to use two coats next time but I was pretty impressed by the effect of one coat of Scandalous :)

  3. I think this was released as Facets of Fuchsia in a limited edition fashion at first, maybe? Because now I see it in stores as "scandalous," too, which is weird. They need to keep their stuff straight, because it makes it confusing :P

That said, finally, one I own! I love this one but don't wear it that often because of the headache that is glitter removal!

Oooh, also! I wanted to tell you that I bought Revlon Gold Coin! :)

    1. I think you're right. It's the dead-on dupe of Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance. I love both. Was so tempted to pick up the Revlon version just for the heck of it! Very nice, Vita. :D

    1. You've got to try it - it was better than I thought it would be with the glitter swimming in the base :)

    1. Thanks Tezza - I know what you mean. I think it would look even more dimensional with another coat (or two)!

  10. I swear we are polish twins - I have picked up this bottle maybe 3 or 4 times only to put it down without purchasing it. Consider me enabled :D
