OPI: Every Month is Oktoberfest

I'm back on the OPI Germany collection track today with the second last of my selections.

When I bought Every Month Is Oktoberfest and sat it next to the red-brown German-icure by OPI I felt a mild sense of panic because these babies looked virtually identical in their bottles - If you check out my bottle spam post here you'll see what I mean.  I was very dubious about these polishes looking significantly different from each other on the nail but wow was I wrong! And I'm so glad I was wrong!  Oktoberfest has now been elevated to favourite vampy shade status in my eyes.  This is one mysteriously beautiful polish, with its inky indigo base sparkling with a subtle blood plum shimmer.  OPI describes it as "deep aubergine".  Application was a dream with a velvety smooth result in two coats.   This deserves extra large pictures so you can fully take in the shimmer...

Which do you prefer?
Every Month is Oktoberfest or German-icure by OPI (swatched here)?

Until next time.

    1. Doesn't it just! Much darker than the bottle thank goodness or it would have just been a German-icure dupe. Don't be fooled by the bottles! :)

  4. I LOVE this. I can't keep the two vampies from this collection straight, but I like both of them. Good thing I haven't made it to an ULTA yet - I would buy them, and I don't need any more polish X_X

    1. I know it seems slightly out of kilter with the spring palette but I'd totally wear this all year round as a date night mani. It's the glorious shimmery partner to my other favourite OPI vampy, the creme Lincoln Park After Dark. Both of them are gorgeous eggplant polishes.

  7. It took me three different visits to figure out the difference between Oktoberfest and Germanicure, but once I realized what it was, Oktoberfest was scooped up in a hurry! It's become the dark horse hit of the season and suits everyone really nicely. :)

    1. Yes, Oktoberfest's a very dark horse! I really didn't expect to love it so much but it's right up there. OMG in the bottle though it looked 99% the same as German-icure and I thought I'd been ripped off at first with incorrect labelling or something...
