EOTD: Trying out teal

The weekend's here so it's time for a splash of colour!

A few weeks ago a few of us were tweeting about wearing colour and agreed to wear teal eye looks on the same day as a bit of a Twitter dare.  I liked my teal EOTD enough to replicate it and I decided to turn up the teal even more using a matching teal eyeliner pencil to anchor the look.  It's a bit more colourful than I wear in my everyday, 8 to 5 life but I really loved doing and wearing this one - I hope you enjoy it too!

What I applied and where:
  • Essence Mystic Lemon in inner half of lid
  • theBalm Open To Offers Olwen on outer half of lid
  • MAC Tempting blended into crease
  • Essence Cappucino, Please blended just above crease
  • Urban Decay Junkie along upper lash line
  • Diorshow mascara (black) on upper lashes

Shades used clockwise from top left:
Essence holographic effect - 43 Mystic Lemon
theBalm shadow/liner - Open to Offers Olwen
Essence shimmer effect - 58 Cappucino, please!
Urban Decay - 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil - Junkie
MAC Lustre - Tempting

Are you a teal fan too?

That's it for now.

Vita :)

    1. Thankyou :) To think it all started with a dare - so glad I took the other girls up on it!

  2. I'm generally not a huge fan of brightly coloured eyeliners but I regularly make an exception for teal ones. I just love how teal looks with green eyes.

I really have to hunt down Mystic Lemon. It looks so pretty but I can't find it anywhere.

    1. Thanks Kate! I used to wear teal regularly years ago then got out of the habit of wearing any bright colour on my eyes. Glad to have resurrected it - as I write I'm wearing a violet blue liner with an ivory shadow, not OTT but a nice hint of colour. As for Mystic Lemon - I hope you can find it because it really is a lovely highlight shade :)

  3. I love it! The teal theBalm shadow is super pretty and MAC Tempting is all sorts of tempting. This is inspiring me to be more bold with colours, Vita. :D

    1. Wow, thanks Liz! I was Googling about my Tempting E/S the other day - I've had it for 3 years now! It was a LE shade from the 2009 Style Warrior collection although a warm golden brown is easily dupeable I'm sure. The teal E/S is the first I've tried from theBalm (I got Balmbini Vol 2 as a GWP) and I loved it! Go ahead and be bold with makeup colours. You're going there with your lovely vampy burgundy lips so why not be bold with your eyes too?

  4. I love a good teal! How funny, I missed that Tweet but I wore my Teal liner from Too Faced yesterday too!

This EOTD is gorgeous on you and I do love that MAC Tempting shade. I have that Balm palette but have yet to open it!

    1. Open it!!! I want to see what looks you come up with! I must admit I need to play with the rest of the palette - so glad I got it as a GWP!
