Indulging in a little Lime Crime

A few weeks ago I got an offer I couldn't refuse - my lovely and genuinely funny blogger friend Ling of Pork Chop's Nest was ordering the entire set of Lime Crime's Les Desserts d'Antoinette nail polish collection from Makeupnet and suggested we do a joint buy.  I like to call this a joint custody arrangement!!! I'm currently housing four shades from the collection and Ling has the other three but as Ling lives so close to me (literally a 5 min car ride away) I know that we'll be swapping these to our hearts' desire!

Yes these are the first Lime Crime polishes I've ever bought.  Apparently these yummy looking pastels are inspired by that naughtily indulgent Marie Antoinette and her well known love of confectionary delights.  The polishes are 3 Free, vegan and cruelty free.

Just look at the lovelies all lined up in a row.  They do remind me of French confections.  I can easily imagine these as macarons or petit fours!

Now for the close up and personal view of my selections.  All shade descriptions were taken from the Lime Crime website:

Lavendairy
"pastel purple lilac"
(A very "me" shade this one!)

Crema De Limon
"pastel yellow"
(Ling selected this one for me to get over my yellow fear!)

Pastelchio
"pastel lime green chartreuse"

Once In A Blue Mousse
"pastel tiffany"
(I leapt at this one and I think it's a pretty good dupe for China Glaze's For Audrey)

Tape swatches photographed (badly) indoors.
Left to Right:
Lavendairy, Crema De Limon, Pastelchio, Once In A Blue Mousse

Get ready for some more pastel nails from me lovelies!

Until next time.

Vita :)

    1. These will be the first Lime Crime products I've tried too! I've always admired their brightly pigmented eyeshadows but I guess I'm a bit more conservative in my eye looks. When it comes to nails though, almost anything goes, haha! I'll more than happy to "model" Lavendairy for you :)

    1. The frosted bottles remind me of old MAC nail polish bottles - love 'em too!

  10. They all look fantastic, Once In A Blue Mousse especially. I love the colour of CG For Audrey but hate the formula so I can't wait for your verdict.

  11. I liked these colors but wasn't thrilled as most people seem to be. Maybe I needed shake mine up more, I had trouble with pigment settling. That purple is AMAZING though and my favorite. Mine had a rubber finish that made it even more special! I can't wait to see you wear that one.

    1. I agree with you about the settling of the pigment in the bottle. The polish does separate quite easily and that's happened with all of the colours. I had to shake the bottles vigorously before photographing them and again before applying my polish. I've now tried 3 of my 4 and mostly the formula's been good. I'm wearing Lavendairy right now and this one has me besotted! The colour's so pretty - it's like Revlon's Darling Lip Balm Stain's perfect partner!

  12. These look so cute. I'm terrible with nail polish. I just never seem to have the time to "paint and wait." My nails always get ruined, which makes it a huge waste of time.
