BYS Splinter Glitter: First Class

The festive season is definitely here (already!?!) and another newly released festive nail polish range from BYS is their collection of Splinter Glitters.  The Splinter Glitter polishes are meant for layering as they are clear polishes with a sprinkling of tinselly bar glitter.  There are six shades in the range and I've been given First Class to review.

First Class is a dark blue bar glitter and I decided to layer it over a dark purple creme base (Ulta3 Spring Break). The glitters are quite sparse so I've applied three coats for a really good coverage.  I did find these a little fiddly to place evenly but even though I wasn't too precise about it here I don't think it looks obviously uneven against the dark base.  These glitters are a little thirsty too and do drink up the top coat so an extra layer is recommended for an extra glassy finish.  I was really happy with the final colour combination and the darkly tinselly effect of the glitter on my nails.  My husband liked this this combo too and complimented my on my "clubby, after dark" mani.  If only he'd taken the hint (*wink*) and taken me out dancing...

    1. I know what you mean - the older polishes weren't that great. These seem to be more consistent in quality. The only thing I could say about this one was the dry time was a bit slow but that's because of the multiple coats of glitter - otherwise no issues!

  7. BYS Splinter Glitter looks great with Ulta3 Spring Break as the base. I've worn glitter nail polish before, though I've never actually applied splinter glitter on my nails before!

    1. Thanks Lena! You're absolutely right about the removal - it pretty much slid off easily from the coloured base because it's quite sparse. Gotta love that!

  13. The splinter glitter really reminds me of having tinsel on your nails! Those look great Vita. Wonder if you can do a graduated glitter look with them?

    1. Tinselly for sure! I need to go back and check the site for the other shades cos this is really season appropriate. I think these would work well for a graduated mani too :)
