OPI: Casino Royale

I've really been getting into the OPI Skyfall shades of late because I think they're the epitome of autumn.

The rather classy Casino Royale was a bit of a sleeper shade for me and I initially overlooked it as I was typically distracted by all the other complex shimmers and metallics in the Skyfall collection.  Of course, once I saw Casino Royale gracing someone else's hands I saw the understated beauty of this deep, glossy polish and finally decided I had to have it.  This polish didn't disappoint either once I applied it - two coats and it really is a "magnificant maroon" on the nails as the OPI site describes it, rather like a deep wine.  I do genuinely love this colour even if it got lost in the crowd at the beginning...

All pictures were taken in cloudy daylight conditions:

That's it for now.

  1. Oh goodness...this has got to be one of my favourite shades!! A must-have for Winter, and so close to the "oxblood", in other words wine shade that's hot this season!

    1. True! And mixing it up makes it all the more fun too - I love wearing a super bright polish in the middle of winter for a pop of cheery colour :)

That's the problem with infinite choices. We can't have them all :(

  6. Totally get what you mean by not really paying attention to it at first - I bought The Living Daylights, GoldenEye (obviously) and On Her Majesty Secret Service, and was eyeing The World is Not Enough, Live and Let Die and You Only Live Twice. But this shade is increasingly more appealing to me now that I'm going through a berry phase and much more into cremes right now than glitters (shock, horror!). Looks gorgeous on your nails :)

    1. If you're on a berry binge you really do need to take a second look at this shade. LOL re the change of mood in mani selections - I have a multiple personality myself! :D

  8. I used to be a sucker for shades like this. Since then I have managed to calm down and my attention has been diverted elsewhere, lol. It is a beautiful shade to wear in the fall! Enjoy!

  9. That is so pretty, I can imagine it looking great with an OPI glitter as an accent nail as well (perhaps Polka.Com? Love that glitter!)

    1. Nice idea - and would you believe it's a glitter I actually don't have?
