Nabi: New Gold Pearl

I've been making an effort to revisit my nail polish collection and bring out some older things to wear to mix it up a bit - even if I have the constant temptation of the newest bottles right under my nose!

Nabi - speaking of things under my nose Nabi polish smells horrifically toxic - does have some interesting colours so I have a small handful from their range.  New Gold Pearl is lush with gold micro-glitter and looks like antique gold lamé to me - that flashy fabric woven with gold thread!  The golden sparkly sheen is really something in real life, although in muted light the dark green undertones can dominate and it looks a little dirtier and murkier, as seen in some of the pictures.  I had a bit of fun wearing New Gold Pearl although I think this would look much more effective on darker skintones to do it more justice.

  1. It looks so beautiful.... but strong smelling polishes are not good!! If we can get to the moon, we should be able to make non toxic smelling polishes!

    1. I agree with you! I wonder about all the toxic chemicals involved. Generally I try to stay away from these - but often you don't know until you've already got it!

  2. Eep, polishes that are very strongly scented are no good! Funnily enough, I think my nose has become immune to the scent of polish, because I usually can't smell any of the polishes I use quite often! Do you find the same?

Shame about the scent as this is a stunning shade!

  4. Shame about the scent, but the colour is very pretty :) I tend to wear more golds on my nails, though I am partial to a gunmetal which I suppose is closer to the silver family? These sorts of colours remind me of Christmas and I love that so so much

    1. Christmas is THE time of year to rock silver, gold and glitters! I prefer gold on my hands too but I'm partial to a bit of silver from time to time. I'm loving the new silver in OPI's San Francisco collection :)

  5. I've found too that I can't smell my polishes or remover either but my friends and family can smell my polishes that r just sitting in a toiletry bag! And to ur Qu, I like silver cause that's the colour jewellery I wear.

    1. Haha! I can definitely relate to that! I try to make sure I'm at the other end of the house when I'm doing my manicures. The family don't complain as much these days so maybe they're becoming immune to it. I live in hope!

  6. I usually prefer gold over silver but it really depends. I think I'd layer some larger glitters over top of this, maybe. Too bad about the smell!

    1. Yeah it certainly has a strong stench about it. I love the layering idea for an upgrade!

  7. Eeek, I try not to use polishes that smell super bad any more - gives me a headache and then I'm just like T_T. Plus Dennison is around, and he's smaller than me, so I figure that's prolly not so good, either. And his nose is better, LOL.

    1. You're a very good mommy! 99% of my polishes aren't stinky like this one fortunately!
