L'Oreal Color Riche Neon: Atomic Purple

A little while ago (while haunting the Priceline aisles in my usual lunchtime "browsing" session) I came across the wonderfully vibrant Neon nail colour collection by L'Oreal.  I chose three shades and naturally one of them was going to be purple!

Atomic Purple by name is atomic purple by nature because this true purple cream just pops too!  As with neon polishes the finish is more of a rubber or vinyl finish - something I'd normally override with a layer of glossy topcoat but I decided to just go with it this time and I did end up liking it! The wide brush makes for an almost one stroke application for each nail and two coats gave full coverage.  Dry time was quite quick so I wasn't sitting around waiting.  Fickle old me likes the 5ml bottle size too because this is something I may actually manage to finish...

Were you tempted by this collection too?

  1. Oooh I love this shade! I have a shade like this from Illamasqua and I love it. Might need to pick this one up too!

    1. It was the first shade to catch my eye. If you like a rubbery finish then you'll love this!

    1. The brush is fantastic! It reminds me a lot of the Dior brushes actually and the Dior is a dream to apply too :)

  3. I really like the L'Oreal polishes and the size is good, as you say, for trying out a whole range of shades while still making it easier to finish up a bottle (like I did with French Riviera). Lovely purple - I like how vibrant and royal-looking it is :)

    1. I think these polishes are a relatively guilt-free buy because of their size. I wish more brands would adopt this approach for people like me who want to try ALL the colours!

  5. Cool! It's so bright and looks so BOUNCY. lol

I was always all about glossy finishes too but did a matte manicure this weekend (!!!) and liked it. The only thing is they chip and crack super fast. How do these rubbery finishes hold up throughout a whole week?

    1. Bouncy's a great way to describe it Liz!
I did wear it through a working week and it's not going to hold up as well as a regular manicure but that's also because there is no top coat protection. I noticed more obvious chipping on my favoured hand, while my other hand only had tip wear.

  6. It reminds me of a shade from Illamasqua - with that rubbery finish. I've never tried one, though, because I'm not sure how I feel about it, lol. Like, will I want to poke at it all week?

    1. Hahaha! You're more likely to be staring at it all week. It feels rather smooth so you might be stroking your nails too! Lol

  7. That looks really pretty - I keep picking it up at the shops but putting it down again, not sure why I can't commit to it just yet.

    1. I find it reminds me a lot of an Ulta3 I also have but the rubber finish is what makes it unique for me. I don't know whether that helps you make your decision?
