Latest pan hits...

This post is for those of you who love the sight of a good pan hit!  I know I'm voyeuristic in that way and I have some bizarre fascination for it - I love reading these posts on other blogs.  I'm not doing any particular Project Pan, and I'm not on any bans or low-buys, or no-buys, so it was a bit of a happy coincidence that I've hit pan on so many things at once! It gives me faith that I actually do get my money's worth from at least some of my products...

Clockwise from left they are:

theBalm Sexy Mama anti-shine translucent powder - I've been using this pressed powder for several months - since September last year actually! Not surprisingly there is a huuuuuge dent in this pan!

MAC Shale - A neutral grey-purple crease shade I regularly use for my work day makeup.  It's been going for years and finally I've had the satisfaction of seeing the bottom of the pan.

MAC Phloof! - Now this one I hit pan on surprisingly, disconcertingly quickly - so quickly that I became suspicious.  Suspicious enough to do a comparison swatch instore and it just was not the same animal.  My pan was sadly crumbly in comparison to the silky smooth MAC counter product.  Yes, I bought this online from a discount site and sadly I'm now 99% sure it's a fake! Boo :(

MAC Tempting - This is from a long-gone LE collection and again has lasted me years.  Now, after a thousand crease accents, I can see a tiny bit of pan.

Essence Cappucino, Please! - Okay, I use this silky neutral beige every, EVERY day!  Damn sure I was going to hit pan here.

So, these are the products I hope to finish some time this year and it's simply because they are the ones I reach for most - my everyday staples.

What are your everyday go-to products?

Vita :)

    1. I find Shale to be a very versatile neutral - it doesn't surprise me that I've used so much!

  4. It's such a good feeling knowing we are getting use out of our often very expensive makeup items, isn't it! Great post x

    1. I think if I didn't like wearing the same look to work everyday then I'd struggle to hit pan too!

  6. Urgh! I'm waiting to hit pan on so many things!!! The only one I've hit pan on is my Brow-a-go-go wax and the blush by Arbonne that I have yet to replace. :/

    1. Your favourite products no doubt! I know, I feel less guilty about buying more things if I can see I'm using what I already have :)

  8. My powder (Annabelle BB Compact Makeup) is getting close to finished, too. It's kind of a problem, haha. It's like, well, I want to finish up some things so I can try new things, but then if I use it all the time then clearly I want to keep using it...haha. Damn.

    1. That is EXACTLY it! That is 100% exactly how I feel - I want to know I'm going to finish something so I feel I deserve to buy more, lol!

  9. Argh, that sucks about Phloof!
I always hit pan on Shroom and Orb from MAC. Drives me crazy, feel like Im always buying one or the other! Do use them a lot though.

    1. Shroom must be one of my absolute favourite MAC shades - it's such a workhorse! I'm actually using Cappucino, Please! as a cheaper substitute but I can see myself buying another Shroom :)

  10. Pan-porn is my cup of tea. Lots of applause for finding items you love enough to hit pan on, and also for being smart with your purchases. I'm sorry to hear about your MAC Phloof. :( Why do people do the whole counterfeit thing? (I know, I know -- it's a money thing, but really. Gosh darn it. Why waste time and energy on tricking people, right?!)

As you know, Cappuccino, Please! is a huge favourite of mine. I don't wear eyeshadow every day so I haven't hit pan yet, but I do lurve it so. I've been cheating on it a bit with the new Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Branded. The latter's a bit too frosty for me, but I'm giving the cream eyeshadow thing a decent go of it.

In an effort to use things up, I've taken to using mostly the items in my daily makeup bag. I'm seeing some dips in a couple of blushes (Yay!) and have figured out how to incorporate a rarely used blush into my routine (yay!). I hope you continue to do Pan Porn posts.

    1. If you want them, I'll do them! I know how excited I am when I read about anyone else hitting pan - so of course I wanted to share! Great idea sticking to a few faithful products. That's exactly how you do it and you'll be surprised to see how you do actually get through things.

Talk about being bummed about Phloof! though. I bought it from a 'reputable' Australian discount site too. I guess you get what you pay for, especially when it comes to MAC!

    2. I wonder if this counterfeit had any connection to the faux MAC products sold at Australian Targets. You're on the money; it seems like it's hard to trust MAC resellers these days.

And yes, please more Pan Porn posts! You've noticed me tweeting this post a couple of times. ;) I'm so impressed, Vita darling!

    3. The MAC eyeshadow was purchased through another Australian discount website - I'm a little reluctant to say exactly who and I'll do a bit of research to see if anyone else has reported the same thing. But yes I'm not going to take the chance again.

I was very excited to see you tweeting my post - THANK YOU Boo!!! xoxo
