Sally Hansen - Commander in Chic

Greige has become a bit of a winter classic for nails and I enjoy wearing it when this time of year rolls around.

Sally Hansen's Commander in Chic has been around for quite a while now and is very much the perfect greige.  Commander in Chic is a medium grey cream with warmth added by just a hint of brown so it doesn't give me 'dead' hands.   As I've found with all of my Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes, even though I wear them without a separate base coat this does still need a top coat for extra gloss but then it lasts an entire week without chipping.  This is two coats of colour with top coat.

I'll always have a shade like this in my polish collection.

Sally Hansen polishes are available from Woolworths, K Mart, Target, Coles, Chemist Warehouse and Priceline stores around Australia.

Fuso: unlabelled greige

Hi!  We're back in the swing of things today - my son's back at school and I went back to the office to catch up on a few days' emails...

Today's polish is a mystery polish from Singapore brand Fuso because over time the label sticker has fallen off the bottle!  I bought this greige creme polish at the time Chanel had just launched THE greige Particuliere.  I wanted Particuliere so much I was on the waiting list for it but impatient me gave up and decided to look for a more affordable dupe.  Now I don't think this is an exact dupe as it looks at least a shade lighter to my eye but it's still a very acceptable shade of greige.  Once I had this I decided I preferred it anyway and never did get around to getting that Chanel!

That's all for now.

What my nails wore to work: BYS - Beautifully Bare

Last week I decided to go down a neutral path with my office mani.  Neutrals are so easy to wear and take away the need to choose outfits and makeup to compliment my manicure shade.  Yes, I'm a bit obsessive at times coordinating my outfits down to the smallest detail colour-wise!

Beautifully Bare from Australian brand BYS sounds like a nude but it's actually one of those lighter grey/brown aka greige creme shades that have become so popular over the last few years.  This shade leans more towards grey on me.  This is two coats:

Until next time.

NOTD: Essence - Walk of Fame

This is the first of my Essence nail polishes I've tried as a full mani.  I chose Walk of Fame as a warm neutral to wear to the office this week and it passed the 'office appropriate' test with flying colours. During a discussion my boss stopped mid-sentence to compliment me on my nail polish colour!

Walk of Fame is a warm grey (aka greige) creme with a high gloss finish.  The formula was on the thicker side but easy to control with the wide brush.  Two coats provided more than ample coverage for this polish.

Onto the pics:

I'll keep this mani all week to see if the Essence polish passes the wear test.  Loving the colour!  Not bad for $2.95!

That's all for now.
