China Glaze: Fly

A China Glaze haul is on the horizon for me soon.  In the meantime I went stash diving into my still small China Glaze collection and dug out this totally non-wintery shade to wear last weekend.

I bought my bottle of Fly from a local manicure salon late last year.  This subtly shimmery magenta is from an old Summer 2009 collection - Kicks.  The colour is totally beautiful IRL but it was somehow painful to photograph, and my camera struggled to focus properly on the pink shimmer residing in the finish.  This is two coats with top coat and thankfully I had some natural sunlight to work with...

On a general note here are a few facts I just discovered about China Glaze while surfing the web tonight:  The polish formula is enriched with China Clay, said to strengthen nails and promote healthy nail growth.  Also, China Glaze is 3 Free and doesn't contain DBP, Toluene or Formaldehyde.

Until next time.

  1. That colour is just stunning, love it! And I'm a huge fan of China Glaze, I prefer them to OPI and even my beloved Essies and the fact they're 3 free is a bonus! Have fun hauling when the time comes! xo

    1. I have to agree with you about China Glaze coming out on top of OPI Lilit. One of my new Melbourne blogger friends asked me what my favourite brand was and I also answered ChG. The formula, shine and wear is just superior! Hope you're enjoying your mat leave and nesting :)

  4. I have a couple of CG polishes and I'm not sure how I feel about them. They're gorgeous, but they also tend to...crack? Must be that hardening stuff :P

    1. They crack? I'm just trying to think what's the longest I've kept the polish on my nails because I haven't experienced the cracking or chipping. I'm going to pick a ChG colour to wear during a typical working week and see how well it lasts - won't be next week though cos I'm having a mini vacation at home with my son while he's on term break!!

    1. Wow thanks Kaki! Yes I read the China Clay is what's used to give porcelain its shiny finish - no wonder these lacquers are so so shiny!!

  9. I just wore this polish a couple of weeks ago, and there it sat on my shelf for so long and I didn't realise its amazingness!!! The shimmer in this polish is so great. It was a one coater for me - love that!! It sits near the top of my favourites list I think!! I too read about the China Clay thing when I first got into nail polish - an interesting conept, but I'm not going to argue - it's the brand I have the most of, I love it!!
