Layered NOTD: OPI You Only Live Twice + Goldeneye

Now for something that really screams Autumn and falling leaves!

I'd seen OPI's Goldeneye layered over the other Skyfall colours so I thought I'd give it a go too.  I had a bit of an issue controlling the application for a suitably sheer and even coverage over You Only Live Twice so I had to apply an extra coat just down the middle of the nail to get a better effect.  While it has transformed the raspberry polish into a warm antique finish I don't know what I think of this mani - ultimately it didn't turn out the way I'd planned.  I'll let you be the judge as to whether you like it or not!

  1. I can't decide what I think either! I tried it over Live and Let Die and I was undecided too! Should get around to sharing my photos sometime...it sort of looks like a cling wrap mani!

  2. Hmmm I think I like it, but maybe that's because it's on your nails ;) haha!
I can see the trouble you had with layering it to be sheer enough.. but I still think I like it :)

    1. Aww thanks Jasmine! I definitely haven't perfected it but it was interesting enough to put out there as an experiment :)

  3. It's really interesting, but I'm not sure, either. I have both of these but Goldeneye seemed too opaque for me to try to layer it - I'm really impatient and have no skills :P It does have kind of a gilt, antique feel, though!

    1. Goldeneye is a really tricky layering polish - much better (and infinitely easier) worn on its own I feel!

  4. I'm not too sure about it. But I can say one thing...the gold and red mixed together reminds me of Chinese New Year somehow. ;)

  5. I kind of like it. Reminds me of the fading gold gild on architectural fixtures. :)
