China Glaze: Scarlet

Sometimes you just crave the classics, like a good old fashioned glossy red manicure.

Suddenly hit by a craving for red I sought out a true red cream polish and China Glaze's Scarlet was just the thing for it.  It's such a clear and bright slightly orange red. I just love how a colour like this really smacks the cold autumn/winter days in the face and it makes a classic statement too. China Glaze cream polishes always have that extra glossy, lacquer finish and the application was as smooth as glass in two coats.

Outdoors - partial sun

Indoors

How do you brighten up cold days?

  2. I love the idea of classic red, but somehow when I wear it, it's not my favorite thing. I have a Butter London shade (can't remember the name right now) that I need to try again. Maybe it's a seasonal thing.

    1. I feel as though red disappears completely off my radar for the longest time - and then I suddenly need to wear it again. Watch - I probably won't wear something like this again for MONTHS, haha!!

  3. A few years ago I went on the hunt for a classic red and sort of settled for OPI Big Apple Red. Then I realized there were just many different kinds of reds and that I favoured orange-reds more than red-reds. I was recently disappointed by the appearance of Chanel Coromandel on me because it had an old 80s vibe to it that I did not count on. Anyway! Yours is lovely and I do consider it a classic red!

  4. Gorgeous red, I often have an odd craving for a specific colour! And sometimes I look at my collection and wonder how I could have so many polishes and still not have anything to wear. :P

    1. Weird, huh? I have those very moments too when the hunt for that elusive colour becomes a full blown obsession! Then there's that ecstatic moment when I finally get my hands on it - and get it onto my nails, haha!

  5. Pretty and classic! I don't wear reds like this, I prefer wine tone or berry reds, but this sure is pretty :)

    1. Maybe you should give bright red a try next Spring? Anyway I went off red for quite a while - years - and it's still an occasional indulgence because of all the other pretty colours out there. Got to admit I DO love it though every time I wear it! xo

    1. I think it's the combination of China Glaze colour AND top coat that produced the ultra shiny finish - China Glaze lives up to the 'glaze' in its name especially with their creams :)
