FABY nail lacquer: FABY Is My Boss!

So, who's been getting on board with Pantone's 2015 colour of the year and embracing Marsala?

I've been slow to dip into it myself so I'm taking baby steps with a nail polish sent to me for review from 5 Free salon nail brand FABY.  FABY Is My Boss! (yes that's the shade name!) is described by the brand as a "classic berry-tinged mocha crème" and it's a deep red-brown - perhaps even a little plum - in keeping with the Marsala theme.

The formula was trouble-free and I had no issues with application as again the polish was just the right consistency to glide onto the nail without flooding or pooling and the neat, narrowish perfectly cut brush made placement easy, with full even coverage achieved in the usual two coats.  I really put this polish to the test this time to see how durable it is and I remained chip-free until day 6.  Not too bad.

Now onto the swatches, which have all been taken on another gloomy Melbourne day.  It's like someone said 'Autumn's here!' and flicked the switch on our weather...

I love the versatility of this shade as it can appear to be either warm or cool depending on what it's worn with. Now that I'm in a Marsala frame of mind I need to go stash diving to see what other Marsala items I can come up with!

FABY nail lacquers are available from leading salons or the FABY website here.

    1. It's such a great nail colour indeed! Any darker colour that is so versatile is a winner for me! I still need to see what other things 'Marsala' I might have in my general makeup collection although I'm in no rush to specifically buy anything more at this point.

  2. Gorgeous swatch, I have this shade too but my your nails are nicer than mine! I much prefer Marsala to Radiant Orchid if I'm honest, such a vampy shade

    1. Very Melbourne for sure! I'd like to wear this for an autumn pedicure too - very chic without being too dark I think :)

  4. I'm only into the edible kind of marsala after overdosing on this sort of shade back in the day, but FABY sort of "nailed it." ;)

    1. I have those vague recollections of doing loads of marsala lips when the brown look was in back in the '90's too! I think that's why I'm wearing of specifically buying anything at the moment - I'm just waiting to see if I start 'feeling' it again first! Lol!
