Revlon Parfumerie: Lime Basil

It's nubbin time again and that's when I usually end up reaching for something a little more on the quirky side to dress up my shortie nails - like a bright green perhaps!

Lime Basil is a perfectly herby shade of green. It's also one of those love/hate scented polishes from Revlon's Parfumerie range and this particular scent was a hate for me because it was so strong and overwhelmingly like lime cordial, but fortunately it faded away after 24 hours or so - and lots of hand washing!  Application was also problematic and a little on the streaky side and after two coats it still looked uneven.  I finished off with the usual single layer of topcoat to finesse it a little bit and then I gave up.  Oh well, at least the colour itself was fun...

All pictures taken in indirect daylight, on an unfortunately gloomy summer day:

Until next time!

  1. Very pretty shade. I stayed away from the scented polishes, I wasn't sure how I felt about my nails smelling or if it was even necessary.

    1. I based my choices on the colours at the end of the day but some don't smell too bad actually!

    1. Those bottles are meant to be displayed aren't they! My favourite is Autumn Spice - the colour is AMAZING and it smells like cinnamon cookies too :))

  3. I love the Revlon Parfumerie range! Although I must agree it is a love hate relationship - some of the scents are just right and absolutely beautiful!
Green looks really nice! Way better then I had imaged - might give it a go :)

    1. So far I've loved 2 out of 3 scents I've tried. Autumn Spice smelled deliciously of cinnamon and I enjoyed Wintermint too :)

  4. Definitely a fun colour! But I agree with you, the scent is just overwhelming. I've tried three other shades of this range and I really can't stand it...

  5. LOVE this color so much!! I've considered buying it so many times but never pulled the trigger. Even with the annoying application, the end color is so striking! Might have to make another Vita drugstore purchase, lol!

    1. OMG don't tell me I've enabled you again! Lol! The other colours I've tried applied quite well so perhaps I just lucked out with a bad bottle this time - good luck if you do buy one!

  7. I love this sort of fresh green. This series by Revlon still makes me groan because the bottles were so adorable but the smells just slayed me. NEVER AGAIN.

    1. Some of them were okay but I really didn't enjoy this scent at all - I'd recoil when it got near my nose! Lol

  8. LOL. I love lime, but I don't think I want to smell like a sickly sweet synthetic lime for days!
