REVIEW: Essence Silky Touch Blush

Continuing with my Essence makeup adventure I recently bought some of their sweetly packaged Silky Touch Blushes to try.  These two cuties live in my makeup bag as a cheap 'n' cheerful pick me up when I want a hint of natural colour on my cheeks:

L-R:  20 (Babydoll), 10 (Adorable)

You can see I've dipped into Adorable quite a bit already.  This shade suits my fair (NC20) skin and gives me the tiniest hint of natural blush for a 'no-makeup', healthy hint of colour - still me but better.

Swatched on my arm - L-R (in reverse order from above of course!):
10 (Adorable), 20 (Babydoll)

- Soft powder texture blends beautifully and gives an airbrushed flush of colour
- Colour can be gradually built up so there's no risk of clown cheeks
- Shades are matte and look natural on the skin
- Compact packaging easily fits into small makeup bags
- Great price at $5.50AUD

- Moderate staying power, needs a touch up in the afternoon
- Not suitable for heavy contouring
- Shades may not be pigmented enough for darker skin tones
- No mirror in the compact
- Limited availability in Australia at selected Priceline and Target stores

Would I buy this again?
Sure, these are nice blush shades for my fair skin.  I like the natural look I can achieve, so they're great for every day.  Also, the price is very affordable.

What's your favourite budget blush?

Until next time.

Vita :)

  1. I liked Essence blushes from previous edition, still have&use those, and now I feel like I want to try this one in Adorable, they're the most affordable brand here, and decent quality too

  2. Adorable looks so pretty! :) I think for me the pros outweigh the cons. If I wore blush I'd probably get some of these, Thanks for the great review Vita!

  3. @hermetic - i love how soft these are and easy to blend. :)

@Vintage Makeup - Adorable is such a soft colour - you literally can't mess this one up or overdo it!

  4. I have one of these but am yet to use it! I am NC15 so should go well with it, I'm excited now! Obsessed with Essence, loving your posts on them

  5. @emmabovary - Thanks Hon, I'm happy to keep wearing and reviewing Essence products! I'm pretty infatuated with them too :) xoxo

  6. Oooh I love the look of Babydoll :D My favourite budget blushes are the Sportsgirl ones. Utterly divine.

  7. @Silhouette Screams - I think I'll have to take myself shopping (again!) LOL
